Set up more than twenty years ago, in 2004, by the Centre-Val de Region, the “Aux Arts, Lycéens et Apprentis!” » aims to promote young people’s access to culture within educational establishments.

Each year, more than a hundred artistic and cultural projects are created thanks to the support of the Region. Among them, the theater workshop at the Rémi-Belleau high school, located in Nogent-le-Rotrou (Eure-et-Loir), perfectly illustrates the richness and scope of this program.

François Bonneau, regional president, visiting this theater workshop

On Tuesday January 14, François Bonneau, president of the Centre-Val de Loire region, visited the establishment to speak with the students who attend it.

Alongside their reference teachers, Françoise Aquime and Pierrick Jégorel, two young actors presented their project for the year. This is a play incorporating passages in sign language, produced in collaboration with the André-Beulé Sensory Education System (formerly Institut André-Beulé). It will be performed on June 2 on the stage of the Simone-Signoret room.

A troop committed to inclusion

Under the direction of Melanie Pichotfrom the company Theater in Piecesa troop of 25 young people was formed. Among them, four already master sign language, and the group hopes to extend this skill to around ten participants before the performance.

and culture are social levers, they allow us to meet others, to provide emotions. Theater, in particular, allows you to grow up faster, to have a deeper look at the world.
