The 28th edition of the Alpe d’Huez Comedy Film Festival ended this Saturday with the awards ceremony and the coronation of the film Avignon by Johann Dionnet with Baptiste Lecaplain, Alison Wheeler, Elisa Erka… A first feature film for this director, very moved to receive the Favorite price of the Alps (presented by Tomer Sisley and four ESF instructors), the Canal + subscriber prices and the coveted Grand Prix. “It’s a film which has grace, emotion, laughter… Something special happened,” explained Elsa Zylberstein, the president of the jury, while presenting this prize. “Words fail me. This film is a miracle because until the end I didn’t think we would make it,” said the director. This film is the story of Stéphane and his troupe who arrive at the Avignon Festival to perform My sister crashes a boulevard piece. There he meets Fanny again, a rising actress who plays in a classic, and falls under her spell. Due to a misunderstanding, she imagines him to be the interpreter of Rodrigue, the main role of the prestigious Cid by Cornelius. To seduce her, Stéphane sinks into a lie that he will have to make last the duration of the festival… but which will very quickly outgrow him.
The Male Actor Award was given to Benjamin Lavernhe for The mix of genress by Michel Leclerc. “An actor who had many facets in this film,” explained Gustave Kervern, member of the jury.
The Female Actor Award goes to Hélène Vincent and Juliette Gasquet, tied, for the wonderful film It’s ira d’Eyna Baroux.
-The Special jury prize was given to the film Rules of the art by Dominique Baumard with Melvil Poupaud and Sofiane Zermani. The jury also chose to award a prize which was not planned, a special mention for the film Love is overrated by Mourad Winter with Laura Felpin, Hakim Jemili and Benjamin Tranié.
Finally, the Audience Award returns to the film The Responder by Fabienne Godet.
