The seventh art loses one of its monuments.

American director David Lynch died at the age of 78, his loved ones confirmed this Thursday, January 16, in a press release.
“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of the man and artist, David Lynch. We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There is a great void in the world now that he is no longer with us. But, as he said: ”Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole”. It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.”they said.
Originally from Montana, David Lynch has had a profound impact on the seventh art through complex, enigmatic works, and above all of infinite richness on formal and narrative levels, ranging from Eraserhead has Inland Empirepassing through The Elephant Man, Blue VelvetLost Highway et Mulholland Driveto name just a few.
He is survived by his wife Emily Stofle, as well as his four children, Jennifer, Austin Jack, Riley and Lula.
The filmmaker would have celebrated his 79th birthday on January 20.
