In Brest, an electro bar will open at the end of February in the city center

A new bar will open on Thursday February 27, 2025 at 21 place de la Liberté in , in place of the Van Der Versch chip shop, which will close two weeks before, on the evening of Thursday February 13, six years after its opening. Le Konteneur will open seven days a week from noon to 1 a.m. “I worked for months preparing the playlist,” says one of the three partners, Grégoire Rispal. “It won’t be a background sound but something that changes,” he says. “We talk about electro because it is the term best known to the general public, but it will rather be house, techno, lounge…”.

It is hoped that a DJ will be present every week. Theme evenings and events will also be offered: from the third evening, March 1st, the place will host the before the Suite (yes, you have to follow…), the port discotheque, with collectives from and Roscoff . Matches at Stade Brestois 29 and major sporting events will be broadcast on a large screen with a video projector.

Daily specials at lunchtime, platters in the evening

On a daily basis, there will therefore be the current (refurbished) room of 130 m2 with at least 70 seats, the terrace which can accommodate 120 to 140 people and, from September, the privatized basement where we can also play darts, for example. Cocktails, more than ten beers on tap, including one or two local ones, homemade daily specials for lunch (mashed sausage or salmon, butcher’s cut, etc.). And boards in the evening. The student clientele is particularly targeted, as well as people who work in the surrounding area, for lunch.

The other two partners are Franz and Paul Verschoren. The first is the owner of the chip shop, the second recently ran the Wafes & Burgers on the other side of the town hall.
