130 years of local roots for the French Building Federation of Eure-et-Loir celebrated at the Théâtre de

The eternal optimist and smiling president of the FFB28 (French Building Federation of Eure-et-Loir), Sigismondo Camilotto, advanced slowly on the stage of the theater, Thursday evening, brigadier in hand and struck twelve rapid and three slow ones to announce his historic piece.

It has been played for 130 years on the construction sites of Eure-et-Loir and neighboring departments by an army of masons, roofers, electricians, plumbers, heating engineers and craftsmen of all stripes. The end of each performance ends with the delivery of the work to individual clients, communities, businesses, etc.

Renovate the Chartres Theater

“When I was younger, I was lulled, like most of you, by the plays of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, in other words, Molière. In our department, Jean-Louis de Nogaret, lord of La Valette and Caumont, Duke of Épernon, was of great support to Molière in his early days. Following the need for renovation work on the Chartres theater in 1895, to bring its staircases up to standard, craftsmen and entrepreneurs decided to come together to collectively respond to this market offer to be stronger together.

There were around sixty of them gathered on May 28, 1895, for the creation of the union. Thanks to them, we are reunited, 130 years later, for this evening of wishes from our federation of Eure-et-Loir,” detailed, to the applause of a packed room, the president of the FFB28. The FFB28 was even created before the national FFB which was created in 1904, 9 years later.

“Defend the general and specific interests of entrepreneurs”

The union representative even showed the first notebook of office, board of directors and general assembly reports with handwriting retracing what was happening at the time in the Eurelian building sector.

The first president of the FFB28, Maurice Vidon, noted that the object of the federation was to “defend the general and particular interests of entrepreneurs, strengthen the spirit of solidarity, attenuate and erase all the rivalries which occur in all bodies of trade or between people and gain the strength to defend oneself against the general enterprise which tends to take on more and more tensions”, underlines the document. And Sigismondo Camilotto clarified: “All this is still relevant today! »

Today, in a world even more in crisis, in transformation and in very rapid evolution, the FFB continues to “evolve and adapt to support companies and their employees. We are all happy to find attentive listening at the federation in these troubled times when our artisans, our entrepreneurs, are sometimes in tension. We must standardize, it is necessary, but intelligently. We are for the principle of one norm created, by the State, against two norms to be suppressed.”
