After the winter break, the Athéna-La Vigie cultural season resumes this week with three events in Athéna: theater Tuesday January 14 with the show “A l’Ouest”, creation of the Rennes collective Bajour around the links within the same siblings; and Saturday 18 with “4,211 km”, by Aïla Navidi, by Cie Nouveau Jour, around the daily life of a family of Iranians exiled in France. And Wednesday the 15th at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., presentation of the 24th Méliscènes festival.
Eight shows sold out
The shows offered this season have generated great enthusiasm, and “the rate of reservations has never been so high,” rejoices Jean-François Guillemet, assistant for cultures and heritage. To the point that eight shows are announced “complete”. b Information to be qualified according to Thomas Renaud, director of Athéna: “We sometimes note a withdrawal rate of up to 10%, with several dozen places to be redistributed. You should therefore not hesitate to register on the waiting list, or even to go to the counter that evening.”
A feminist orientation
As for the content, it stands out for its diversity and originality. The “feminist” orientation initiated with the tribute to Gisèle Halimi continues with “4,211 km” on January 18, “Edène” by Alice Zeniter on April 3 (adaptation to the “neutral feminine” of J. London’s novel “ Martin Eden”), and “Starting-block” on May 18, match-show of the Collective “These girls-là” selected by the Clap (local Cogiteurs amateurs of programming).
Sonic nights, classical guitar, jazz-flamenco…
On the music side, it’s the big gap in February between the Nuits soniques on Saturday February 8 (standing concert in Athéna with Jolagreen23 and Baby Neelou) and “The concert of my 40 years” by classical guitarist Thibault Cauvin. To follow, the quartet of trumpeter Avishai Cohen on April 25 at La Vigie, and jazz-flamenco with 18 musicians and singer Isabel Julve, on May 15 at Athéna.
Also note the Children’s Highlight on February 2, with two shows: “Le jardin du possible” (four sessions) and “En terre” (two sessions).
