THE wishes. An expected meeting at the start of the year. Which has less and less good press at a time of budgetary restrictions.
Never mind, the president of the Department Alain Leboeuf held his big rally, in front of 3,000 people in Vendéspace. “We needed to see each other, to maintain this collective flame, to cultivate this collective ambition. »
With in the first row, Bruno Retailleau, Minister of the Interiorvisiting Vendée this Friday January 10. A distinguished guest that Alain Leboeuf invited to come on stage, alongside him, to sing the Marseillaise, after a good hour of speeches.
A speech peppered with reminders of the budget restrictions (€13 million in savings, – €100 million in revenue over 2 years), punctuated by strong criticisms against agrivoltaism, strong greetings aimed at entrepreneurs, farmers, fishermen… And sprinkled, here and there, announcements for 2025.
The Maison des sports is moving
Sport. “We are going to rethink the Sports House which hosts around thirty sports committees and the CDOS (Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee),” indicated President Leboeuf.
“I am announcing this evening, to all the athletes of Vendée, that the Maison des sports, located today on Boulevard Briand, will be moved and we will build a new one, in Oudairies, near the headquarters of Sdis (Departmental Fire Service). and emergency) and the departmental laboratory. This House will have visibility from the Georges Duval roundabout and easy access to the Napoléon Vendée interchange. »
The choice of the architect will be made in the coming months.
On the agenda, 1is and March 2, the French cross-country championships in Challans, but also the French cycling championships in Les Herbiers on June 26 and 29.
Also coming up are “big matches for the French team at Vendéspace, including with Olympic champions, but I can’t reveal anything this evening.”
Mickaël Canitrot in Maillezais
Culture. In 2025, the essentials will be back, with the baroque music festival in the gardens of William Christie, Musiques au logis at La Chabotterie, the Newfoundland theater festival, Christmas events…
But also new products “for the summer season at the Château de Tiffauges, at the Abbey of Maillezais, at the Logis de la Chabotterie”.
Note, unique meeting on July 4 in Maillezais, with the Monumental tower by Mickaël Canitrot, he who “had the mission of concluding the reopening ceremonies of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral”.
A new HQ for firefighters
Building. The Department will purchase land south of La Roche-sur-Yon, “near the Luçon interchange”, to build a new real estate complex intended to accommodate the Sdis General Staff.
“Their departmental work tool is no longer adapted to the relief challenges of Vendéens. A new investment program is being studied. »
-Deconstruction work is planned in Jard-sur-Mer and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez where old colonies will be razed. The idea: to restore its place to nature, like what was done at Mont des Alouettes, at Les Herbiers, after deconstructing the old restaurant.
Routes. €51 million will be invested in the network. The RD 11 between Les Herbiers and Les Epesses will be completed this year “for the millions of visitors to our jewel that is Puy du Fou”.
Studies for a third route will continue for the RD6 between Aizenay and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, as well as for the RD 938 Ter between Fontenay-le-Comte and Ile-d’Elle.
In other news, “the prefect signed at the end of December the declaration of public utility for the 2×2 lanes between Saint-Jean-d’Hermine and Luçon. »
The abandoned Mareuil diversion
On the other hand, projects will be abandoned. Like the Mareuil-sur-Lay deviation, estimated at €40 million in 2017. “We are thus responding to budgetary requirements, but also to the realization of our promises which concern the economy of land and the protection of our rich environment. »
Work to secure the town will be carried out instead. In return, “the raising of the bridge on the access ramp to Aubigny will allow exceptional convoys to no longer cross the town of Mareuil-sur-Lay and to take the Moutiers-les-Mauxfaits diversion”.
Colleges. €68 million will be devoted to repairs to 17 middle schools. Starting with the Auguste and Jean Renoir college in La Roche-sur-Yon, completely rehabilitated, and the Pierre-Garcie-Ferrande college in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, expanded.
“In both cases, the architects are working hard to launch the markets, with work towards the end of the year. »
Connected Vendée
Childhood. Faced with the increase in the number of children taken care of by child welfare (1,750 children, + 250 in two years), €98 million has been earmarked to accommodate them.
A new branch of the Children’s Home (24 places) will be opened in Fontenay-le-Comte at the end of the year. Two other structures for siblings will be created in La Genétouze (30 places) and Sèvremont (30 places).
Technology. 2025 will finally be the year of launch of the project Vendée Territory connected. It aims to integrate connected objects into public equipment to achieve “energy and financial savings” on heating, lighting, water meters, private containers, voluntary drop-off points, etc.
“We are going to show the country that our own metropolis, with 700,000 inhabitants, is called Vendée. »
