Trailing 2-0, SG revolted to beat Manchester City, with Manuel Akanji, 4-2, in a crazy match on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes and moved closer to qualifying for the League play-offs champions.

Luis Enrique’s team, which is moving up the list of play-offs, will try to validate its ticket on the Stuttgart pitch next Wednesday during the last day of the league phase.

Everything was decided in less than 20 minutes: Jack Grealish (50th) and Erling Haaland (53rd) scored for the English club, but Ousmane Dembélé (56th), entered after the break, Bradley Barcola (60th), Joao Neves ( 78th) and Gonçalo Ramos (93rd) offered a crucial success to the Parisians.

Real Madrid easy

The class of Real Madrid attackers cracked Salzburg (5-1), to ensure the title holder at least a place in the play-offs one day before the end of the league phase.

Rodrygo scored two classy goals in the first period (23rd, 34th), then Mbappé (48th) and Vinicius (55th, 77th) increased the score. Mads Bidstrup saved the honor for Salzburg (5-1, 84th).

Real will face for the final day next Wednesday.

Bayern fall in the Netherlands

Bayern recorded a third setback in four trips to the Champions League, corrected in Rotterdam by Feyenoord (3-0), a defeat which complicates its mission to finish in the top 8 at the end of the group stage.

Before the reception of Slovan Bratislava, the only team which has lost all of its seven matches, the Munich residents have 12 points. They are no longer masters of their destiny in the quest for the direct qualifying ticket for the round of 16 and the advantage of receiving the return match.

Against the Slovak team, they will have to win, by the biggest margin to take care of their goal difference, and count on missteps from their rivals, otherwise they will have to go through the play-off box, the stage of the competition which will give them has been at least assured since Wednesday evening, despite the defeat in the Netherlands.

Sommer’s Inter almost in the eighth

Yann Sommer’s Inter Milan took a big step towards direct qualification for the round of 16 by beating Sparta Prague 1-0.

Thanks to this fifth victory in seven days of the league phase, Inter has sixteen points and moved back to 4th place. A draw against Monaco next week at the San Siro will be enough to secure their place in the top eight.

In the winter temperatures of Prague (-3°C), Inter took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to their captain Lautaro Martinez, who once again became formidable in the opposing goals. The Argentinian scored his fifth goal in seven matches.

Quiet Arsenal

Arsenal are also heading towards the round of 16 after beating weak Dinamo Zagreb (3-0) on Wednesday in London, the end of a perfect home run in the league phase.

The “Gunners” appear in third place in the European rankings before the final day, with three points ahead of the teams that could theoretically eject them from the directly qualifying Top 8.

The trip to Girona next week will therefore be without pressure for Mikel Arteta’s team, who did not have to endure much pressure on Wednesday against their Croatian opponent.

On other grounds, Brest and Edimilson Fernandes lost to Shakhtar Donetsk (2-0), Leipzig beat Sporting de Portugal (2-1) and Milan won against Girona (1-0).
