It is a ranking awaited at the start of each year by many record companies and many artists. This January 9, 2025, the Snepthe national phonographic publishing union, published its ranking of the 200 best-selling albums in France in 2024.
Unsurprisingly, French urban music is the best represented, with no less than 12 rappers ranked in the Top 20. Werenoi thus takes the first step of the podium, followed by PLK (2nd), then SDM (8th), JUL ( 10th, 11th and 13th), Gazo x Tiakola (12th), Dadju and Tayc (15th), SCH (17th), Tiakola (18th) and Bouss (19th).

But what about rock a you metal ? Do artists and groups from these two musical trends appear in this ranking of the best-selling albums in France in 2024? As revealed by Sneponly 4 groups and artists are positioned in the Top 50. Indochinathe famous French pop-rock group, comes in third position in this ranking, with its new opus “Babylon Babylon“.
-We then find the Italian training Moonlight (29th), with his disc “Rush!“, Then Linkin Park (35th), back with the opus “From Zero“. The American alternative rock band also ranks 38th with the album “Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000–2023)“.
Another major fact, 5 French projects stand out by ranking in the Top 20 of best-selling Rock & Metal albums of the year 2024 in the country. Besides Indochina, we also find Shaka Ponk, Jean-Louis Aubert or even Ultra Vomit.
For fans of metal music, note the presence of the British from Judas Priest (23rd) and Bring Me The Horizon (24th), Americans from Falling in Reverse (25th), Germans from Rammstein (27th), or even the Swedes of Ghost (30th). Also worth mentioning is the American thrash metal band Metallica (38th) with his album “72 Seasons“, Nightwish (41e), Bruce Dickinson (44e) et Marilyn Manson (50e).
