New jobs are created thanks to the arrival of Maestria paints
In the 1960s, after leaving the Belgian Congo, Paul MAES, a chemical engineer, decided to settle in Pamiers (his wife being from Ariège), and founded an independent family business, “Peintures Maestria”.
In 1963 he created in the new area of Pic à Pamiers “the Factory of Paintings of Ariège” which would bear the name of Societe Master Peintures and it would never move from there. He developed the first ready-to-use glycerophthalic lacquers. The company designs, produces and markets four ranges of paints in France and all countries: “building”, “floor”, “anti-corrosion system” and “road signs”.
It manufactures solvent-based and aqueous-based paints, resins, sealants, as well as a color division capable of reproducing more than 120,000 shades.
