the essential
This Thursday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m., an exceptional evening awaits the Carmausins and all the others at the Dynamo cultural café.
It will begin with the opening of the exhibition by Tatiana Strelkoff, who will exhibit her wall hangings until February 28. “I have been practicing this artistic technique for more than 40 years. My first inspirations came from the painter Gustave Klimt whose paintings seem to be made of fabric, a material which I use to express all my emotions and my experiences.” Note that Gustave Klimt is the leading artist of Viennese symbolism. He is known worldwide for his precious compositions where gold dominates.
And Tatiana doesn’t just use ordinary pieces of fabric, she takes pieces that have a story like grandmother’s socks to fashion decorative objects.
This self-taught woman grew up sewing in her grandmother’s workshop. Its diverse forms of primitive textile art and multiple techniques opened unlimited imaginations to the artist. These are figures, eyes, patchwork shapes, friezes, Tatiana boldly seizes this raw medium to express an experience, an emotional impact (Source tourisme.hautstolosans.fr).
To accompany the opening of the exhibition, Elsa, Tatiana’s daughter, will be on stage with her duo “Basa” and her Franco-Guinean songs and music.
Basa Duo sings in Malinké and French, with traditional West African roots, a cultural and instrumental mix that propels it into the spirit of the times. This group offers us a real change of scenery, a beautiful journey to distant and unknown lands. “This is not the first time that my daughter and her group have accompanied me musically during my openings,” underlines Tatiana. “It is always a great pleasure and a great pride.”
