The Césars celebrate their 50thth edition in this year 2025. An anniversary edition, whose trophy ceremony will take place on February 28, 2025 at the end of a long process of selection, nominations and votes to choose the winners from among the hundreds of eligible films. While waiting to reach the end of this process and to know the final winners for the 24 existing categories, an official selection including 32 young actresses has been revealed in the Revelation category.
Among the 16 actors is the actor of Martinican origin Théo Christine for his fiery, intense and profound interpretation in the film directed by Gaël Morel “ Live, Die, Reborn » where he plays the role of Sammy. A story of love and intergenerational friendship. One of the most moving films of 2024.
A busy filmography
Aged 28, Théo Christine already has a busy filmography. Born in La Roche-sur-Yon, he grew up between Vendée and Martinique where his father came from. He has to his credit around ten feature films and a few television series. It was also his role in the series Skam France which revealed him to the general public in 2018, before joining the cast of the series “ The last wave », a highly successful series broadcast on France 2.
In the cinema, he began by appearing in the “ Finale » alongside Thierry Lhermitte and Rayane Bensetti. Shortly after, he appeared in various films and television films. He is Joey Starr in the Audrey Estrougo biopic « Supreme » which traces the beginnings of the NTM group, thus embodying its first main role. He will continue with “ Madly » d’Audrey Estrougo, « Grand Tourism » by South African and Canadian director Neill Blomkamp and more recently « Vermines » by Sébastien Vanicek. He will be featured again in 2025 in “ Ollie », the first feature film by Antoine Besse and “ Magma », a disaster film by Cyprien Vial where he plays the role of a volcanologist in Guadeloupe. Different roles which reveal the full extent of his immense talent. Certainly, Théo Christine is in the process of becoming a sure value in French cinema, even before that of Révélation.
Appointments announced on January 29, 2025
As a reminder, the category “ Revelation “, formerly called ” Hopes » until the Césars 2024, rewards the new faces of French cinema. To highlight them, the César Academy is organizing the Revelation Project which consists of the production of a short film featuring the 32 actresses who made the cinema of the year.
A gala evening in honor of these Revelations is then organized during which the Revelations project will be revealed, within a photo exhibition and the presentation of the film. During this evening which will take place on January 20, each Revelation is accompanied by a godmother or godfather of their choice. Please note that it is on January 29, 2025, after the end of the first round of voting which runs until January 28, that the nominations for the 50th will be announced.th Caesar ceremony.
