The actor Benoît Allemane, French voice of Morgan Freemandied this Sunday, January 5 at the age of 82. His death was announced by Lionel Auguste, his director friend, who regrets the disappearance of a “great gentleman”.
“Great actor, immensely popular voiceand modestly, a beautiful and sweet friend who had given me the honor and pleasure of participating in my three films. He had agreed without question to lend his voice, his physique, his talent to my projects,” he wrote in a publication on Facebook.
The voice actor is also known for having lent his deep voice to the character of Zeus in Hercule from Disney, or even for his appearances in The Guignols of the infothe series Malcolm, The Adventures of Babar et Super Baloo, The Jungle Book.
Benoît Allemane, who began his career in the theater, lent his voice to the American actor Morgan Freeman since the film Ruthless in 1992. The two men met for the first time last June, at the Monte Carlo Festival.
He also occasionally moved from dubbing to the big screen, notably in the film Life and nothing else by Bertrand Tavernier, in 1989.
