Julien Courbet was forced to leave a Lacoste store in , which refused to tolerate the presence of his dog Simone.

“Fired from the @Lacoste Ternes store because I was with #simonelechien. I’m not contesting, it’s their right, mine, is to go buy elsewhere. It’s a shame to have an animal as an emblem and refuse them,” he wrote on X/Twitter on January 4, referring to the brand’s crocodile-shaped symbol.

The 59-year-old host’s post naturally generated comments. Some in support, but also with others questioning his point of view and raising possible problems that the presence of animals in stores can cause.

“I understand that it can be shocking, but at the same time if everyone came to the stores with their animals, it would still be really disgusting,” wrote one user. To which Julien Courbet replied: “That’s a good argument, perhaps we can take turns waiting outside. Only one animal at a time in the store, could that be a solution?

Shortly after, under the comment of another Internet user mentioning people afraid of dogs, the host even revealed himself to be even more friendly: “You are absolutely right, as soon as I see that someone is afraid, I go out from the store. Just yesterday at the pharmacy I saw a lady come in (and) she saw Simone. I saw that she was scared, I told her I’m the one going out Madam, and I waited for her to come out before coming back.

As a television specialist in the resolution of conflicts of interest, could Julien allow himself to be anything other than conciliatory?
