The official announcement was expected at the end of this week, when the Moroccan magazine Tel Quel published the information on Monday, January 6, as diplomatic relations between France and Morocco have warmed up in recent months.
150 publishing houses
The Paris Book Festival, which took over from the Book Fair in 2021, aims to exceed last year’s 100,000 visitors (and as many books sold) during the three days in this new setting. The space will be increased by almost a third compared to the ephemeral Grand Palais where the first three editions were held.
According to the latest Bief study on publishing in the Maghreb dating from 2021, nearly 150 publishing houses publish around 3,000 titles per year in Morocco.
