The Blanquefort Artistic Society is organizing its 40the Arts fair from Saturday March 8 to Sunday March 16, from 2 to 7 p.m., at the Fongravey multipurpose room. This major exhibition will have as guests of honor the painter Thierry Zdzieblo and the sculptor Béatrice Fernando, from the Gers.
Self-taught and hypersensitive, Thierry Zdzieblo is a solitary painter who needs “great calm”. After a career as a triathlete, in 1998, he embraced painting and became a master of abstract art.
On the international market side, he has exhibited in Paris, Lyon, Beirut, Mexico… His paintings travel, since there are all over the planet through sales: Shanghai, Amsterdam and even in Bangladesh… “I run and I paint every day. I work alone, I clear my head, I enter the canvas alone. When I paint, I am in a state of trance, I give all my energy to my work… it’s a kettle inside me”, declares the artist who is also passionate about the Second World War and frequents the former fighters and American cemeteries.
New material
As for Béatrice Fernando, she studied art history before devoting herself entirely to sculpture. Working with materials is a vital need for her to give life to with her hands. His works with singular identities are made of a new material of which the artist has the secret. This mysterious mixture, composed among other things of sandstone, sand and ceramic, allows Béatrice Fernando to create often slender sculptures, with a raw look and expressive features. It was also distinguished by its bulls.
Please note, painters and sculptors can still register (until January 31) for this exhibition. The registration form can be found on sab-peinture.fr.
Entrance to the SAB Arts Fair will be free. The opening will take place on Saturday March 8 from 6 p.m. and a musical evening is planned for Thursday March 13 from 7 p.m.
