In brief:
  • Noah Wyle returns to a medical role in ‘The Pitt.’
  • The thriller “Paradise” promises mystery and disturbing state secrets.
  • “At the Dawn of America” explores the brutal conquest of the West.
  • Robert De Niro stars in the presidential miniseries “Zero Day.”

In an increasingly uncertain world, one thing remains certain: in 2025, “serivores” will not risk famine. On the contrary, even. Because it’s a pantagruelian feast that streaming platforms and channels have concocted with, à la carte, romance, suspense, fantasy, history, classic procedural, “based on a true story” …Here, a small selection of the most anticipated fiction from the coming weeks.

Expected responses

“She’s alive!” yelled Mark S. at the end of the last episode of “Severance 1”. But will he be able to hug his wife, Gemma, again, who he thought was dead? And what will become of Helly R., Dylan or Irving now that they have reconnected with their outie – their “self” outside of work?

Besides, how will Lumon’s management react to these rebels who have broken the rule of absolute dissociation between professional and private lives? Highly anticipated, season 2 of this dark, anxiety-provoking dystopian fable full of existential questions should provide some answers…

The highly anticipated return of “Severance” for a second season in January.

«Severance», saison 210 episodes, Apple TV/Canal+, from January 17

Murder at the White House

If we are to believe the first trailer for “Paradise”, it is about murder in the White House, an investigation rich in twists and turns and state secrets – all in a slightly paranoid atmosphere… though.

Considering the cast, which includes Julianne Nicholson, Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden, and knowing that it is by Dan Fogelman, to whom we notably owe “This Is Us”, this political thriller seems very promising.

Do you like historical series in general and the conquest of the West in particular? “At the Dawn of America” should delight you. Carried by Taylor Kitsch, this miniseries is described as a brutal story “that explores the brutal clash of cultures, religions and communities experienced by women and men who fight and die to preserve or control this land”. Written by the screenwriter of “The Revenant”, this epic begins in 1857, a particularly complicated period where only one thing counts: survival. A hell of a program!

What’s up, doctor?

Unforgettable Dr Carter from “Emergencies”, Noah Wyle returns to service and the stethoscope in “The Pitt”, a medical series which, over 15 episodes, in real time, looks at the day of a team from the Emergency Department of the Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We imagine, a lot of stress, emotions and possibly hemoglobin on the operating table.

Robert De Niro as President of the United States? Thanks to “Zero Day”, it’s done! Lady… For his first series, this cinema giant could not be satisfied with less! If we refer to the trailer, the plot begins the day after a cyberattack with catastrophic consequences – which we obviously do not hope are prophetic. Surrounded by Matthew Modine and Angela Bassett, the patriarch, who wears his 81 years as if nothing had happened, questions power, individual freedoms and (plays) on the fears of a slightly complicated era.

Choderlos de Laclos for ever!

Yet another reinterpretation of “Dangerous Liaisons”, this “Merteuil” demonstrates that the epistolary novel by Choderlos de Laclos remains decidedly timeless. In this version made in we will revisit this libertine masterpiece in the company of Diane Kruger, Vincent Lacoste and Lucas Bravo. And it will be about following with a somewhat feminist perspective the rise of the young Isabelle de Merteuil, who, after being humiliated by the Viscount of Valmont, sets up an implacable revenge.

Diane Kruger plays Madame de Rosemonde in “Merteuil”.

“Merteuil”, miniseries, 6 episodes, Max/Canal+, broadcast date not yet communicated

The return of the Lotus. Finally!

«Sawasdee ka! Welcome to White Lotus in Thailand the…” Hoped for and awaited by countless fans of the first two seasons, “The White Lotus” finally returns. After Hawaii and Sicily, it is therefore in Asia that we put down our suitcases – just to follow the adventures of vacationers in all respects, in appearance at least, embodied in particular by Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jason Isaacs , Sarah Catherine Hook or Aimee Lou Wood. If we are to believe the launches, it is with an a priori tone that is still as satirical as ever that the plot joyfully mocks Westerners who have come to immerse themselves in baths of Eastern wisdom and spirituality. We can’t wait to find out for sure!

The 3rd season of “The White Lotus” is expected like the messiah. What will this season be worth without Jennifer Coolidge in the credits? Although her character dies at the end of the second season, there was talk of a twin sister... Would her participation be kept top secret to increase the sauce? Suspense!

“The White Lotus”, season 3, 8 episodes, Max/Canal+, from February 17

Due to a natural disaster that threatens the entire population, Denmark must be urgently evacuated. At the center of the plot, moving characters who see their lives and their destinies irreparably turned upside down. A fantastic series that raises many questions.
