It’s a ranking expected at the start of each year and at the end it’s always (or almost) the same one who wins. Jean-Jacques Goldman was elected favorite personality of the French for the fifteenth time according to the Ifop study for JDD. Although away from song and public life, he is approaching the absolute record held by Commander Jacques-Yves Cousteau (20 times elected).
He is ahead of actor Omar Sy, not very visible this year but who finds his place on the podium, completed by tatami star Teddy Riner (3e). Florent Pagny, second in 2024, falls two places.
Olympics effect
The Paris Olympic Games had a significant impact on the ranking. Besides Teddy Riner, Léon Marchand climbs to fifth place in the ranking. Likewise, rugby player Antoine Dupont, crowned with the French rugby sevens team, enters in eighth place, and the Lebrun brothers rank 31e.
Conversely, few footballers are present in the ranking, the Blues certainly paying for their lackluster Euro 2024, despite a semi-final. Thus, the first personality linked to football in the ranking is Zinédine Zidane (17e). Antoine Griezmann (32e) and Kylian Mbappé (36e) are the only active players in the Top 50.
Marine Le Pen first woman in the ranking
This year, there are no women in the Top 10. The first among them is Marine Le Pen (11e), just behind Jordan Bardella (10e). The two leaders of the National Rally are the only two political figures in the ranking.
