Friday January 17 at 8:30 p.m. in the Balène room, the cultural services of the Astrolabe are offering, as part of the student seasons, a rock evening called Johnny Party. Nothing to do with the late Jean-Philippe Smet, “Le taulier”, except good incandescent music, which hits and sometimes crosses the limits of rock.

Two groups are on the bill, which curiously, have the same predestined first name, Johnnie Carwash and Johnny Mafia.

The first, Johnnie Carwash, a guitar/bass/drums trio from , born in a garage where rehearsals took place, is ready, after more than 150 concerts in Western Europe. It oscillates without complexes between hair-raising punk and slow music for young girls. Lively writing, ideal for confronting the ambient gloom.

The second, Johnny Mafia, from Yonne, is a supercharged punk-rock quartet with angry melodies. Created in 2010, it didn’t take long to build a reputation as a beast of the stage. Two guitars, a bass and a drummer, and even if the group sings in English, Johnny Mafia will cheerfully tickle the boundaries of French rock.

Standing concert for all audiences. Price €16, reduced €11.
