VIDEO – Every week, our film critics comment on a film released in theaters. Today, Franck Dubosc imitates “Fargo” and the Cohen brothers with “Un ours dans le Jura”, and that pleases Marie Sauvion and Samuel Douhaire.

Anear the romantic comedy Everyone standing (2018) and the dance steps of Rumba life (2022), we didn't necessarily expect to see Franck Dubosc try his hand at black comedy, a murky and absurd thriller trend. And yet… With A bear in the Jura, the comedian changes register and it works quite well for him. “It’s quite a good surprise, this detective comedy, underlines Marie Sauvion, because it succeeds in bringing real characters into existence with an amazing cast, and it manages to go quite far into the darkness. »
Of course the snowy landscapes and the absurdity of the situations make us think of Fargo, from the Coen brothers: “If he doesn't have the talent of the Coen brothers […], I’m not going to quibble because there are moments of real laughter,” insists Samuel Douhaire. Above all, the film owes a lot to its casting. Laure Calamy is impeccable. And the supporting roles, Joséphine de Meaux and Benoît Poelvoorde (“who, for once, doesn’t overdo it”), “ very well composed.”

As for Franck Dubosc, “he also plays very well the guy who has a crazy talent for getting into trouble and doing anything. We wonder if the wires don't touch each other sometimes. He underplays and it’s finely measured,” believes Marie Sauvion.
