In a few months, the Haute Côte-d’Or will have its first concert hall dedicated to current music. Located in the heart of the Actipôle area of Châtillon-sur-Seine, the place will be called Le Hangar and will offer a space of 700 m2 to host rock, rap, reggae and electronic music concerts.
A former bar then nightclub
Built around twenty years ago, the building was successively occupied by a bar, including a large billiard room (from 2008 to 2013), before becoming a nightclub, between 2019 and 2020. An establishment weighed down by the crisis of Covid, which had not been active for four years.
Ultimately, it was the town of Châtillon-sur-Seine that brought the site back to life, which it bought for €400,000. Before entrusting the management of the future concert hall to the local Bad Seed association, which already organizes a music festival in Châtillon and Massingy.
It is also the volunteers of this association who are responsible for bringing the room up to date (paintings, decoration, enlargement of the pit, new stage, etc.). Work which should be completed during the first quarter of 2025, with a first concert planned for next April.
