Adam Mosseridirector ofInstagramannounced improvements to the search for direct messages. In a recent reel, Mosseri answered a question posed by the user @ben_yanes during one of his Q&A sessions on the platform, where he suggested adding a search bar to filter keywords in the message requests folder.
Mosseri recognized the usefulness of this proposal, especially for creators who receive a large number of requests daily, and said that he will discuss it with his team to implement it in 2025. Additionally, he announced that Instagram’s search system will continue to improve with new tools next year.
Currently, Instagram already allows searching for conversations with users via a bar in the inbox, but it lacks more advanced features like keyword filtering. This contrasts with WhatsAppanother application belonging to Metawhich allows you to search for specific terms in discussions. For example, users can locate previous addresses by searching for related keywords.
With this feature, Instagram aims to optimize the experience of its users, especially those who have high engagement on the platform. Do we have to wait long to see it?
