The Wampark was destroyed by fire a few hours after the start of the new year in Condrieu. The owners mentioned several thousand euros in damages to BFM Lyon.
A few hours after the transition to 2025, a building at the Condrieu leisure center (Rhône) caught fire. Inside, everything was burned: structures, a vehicle, maintenance equipment and even ski lift parts.
The damage was estimated by the owners at several hundred thousand euros. They denounce “a gratuitous act” to BFM Lyon while an investigation was opened by the gendarmes to determine the causes of the disaster.
The carousel caught fire at Christmas
This fire raises questions because it is part of a series of fires recorded during the end-of-year holidays. At Christmas, the Condrieu carousel caught fire and trash cans were set on fire the following days in several towns.
Facts considered “fairly rare” by one of the local gendarmerie brigades which are carrying out investigations. For all these facts, the exploitation of video protection is underway and witnesses are being questioned.
