The Médoc has at its heart

Music in the heart of Médoc presents the particularity of not relying on a festival, but on a complete season of monthly concerts, which opens this Sunday, in Margaux-Cantenac

In 2025, four dates appear on the MACM agenda. On Sunday March 16, at Château Branaire-Ducru, in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, the Bacchus quintet should delight the public. Born in 2014 from the complicity of five young musicians from the Conservatoire national supérieur de , this group has never ceased to amaze and seduce since its beginnings. Bacchus has performed at numerous concerts and festivals: Vents d’hiver at Les Invalides (Paris), Val de coppers (78), Bacchus makes his show (59). We also hear him on the airwaves of Musique for the show “Génération Jeunes Interpreters”.

On Sunday April 13, it is on the magnificent site of Vertheuil Abbey, in the Salle des Augustins, that the Quintet by Schubert will be performed by five talented young musicians, from the best music schools in the world, playing with great virtuosity, but also great sensitivity. They will offer an exceptional interpretation of the famous Two Cello Quintet, of which they will make you feel all the beauty and depth.

Marine Jay

On the enchanting site of the Château d’Agassac, in Ludon-Médoc, on Sunday May 18, the Symphonie des Marteaux will resonate in the concert hall. An astonishing duo will highlight two complicit keyboards. On one side, the imposing wooden blades of Adélaïde Ferrière’s marimba and on the other that of the piano for a four-handed speech by Jonathan Raspiengeas. From Vivaldi to Gershwin, the public will be immersed in a journey of classical transcriptions, original percussion works and pianistic flights.

Finally, to close this season, which will have started in October 2024, the MACM team has planned a concert at Château Lascombes, located in the prestigious Margaux appellation. In a concert entitled “One Hundred Years of Jazz”, the young prodigy Alba Obert will be on stage. A rising star of jazz, the singer and violinist combines exceptional creativity with disconcerting virtuosity. She is capable of drawing bridges between different aesthetic universes, from electric jazz-rock to the liveliness of Balkan music via a certain classicism. In short, she is a true artist with her own universe who will interpret the standards of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Around this young musician, passion, emotion and inventiveness will be there.
