Yverdon holds his new coach.
The Northern Vaudois club announces that it has hired Paolo Tramezzani, former coach of Lugano and Sion. The contract runs until the summer of 2025, with the option for an additional season.
Paolo Tramezzani (54 years old) succeeds Alessandro Mangiarratti, dismissed eleven days earlier after having spent a little over a year in this position. The Italian technician takes over the reins of a club which is in 10th place in the Super League ranking and will therefore have to fight for its maintenance during the second part of the season.
Passed four times (!) by Sion, the last for a six-week mandate in the spring of 2023 at the end of which the club was relegated to the Challenge League, Paolo Tramezzani had been free from any contract for a few days. Since February, he has led NK Istra in Croatia.
‘The new YS coach will fly with his new players on January 2 to Portugal, for a ten-day training course, in order to prepare in the best conditions for the resumption of the championship’ on January 19 in Zurich, writes the club in a press release. Tramezzani also arrives with his assistant, Attila Malfatti.
