Episode 4 of season 3 of What If… ?titled What If… Howard the Duck Got Hitched ? (What if Howard the Duck got married?) already promised just from its title an unexpected alliance between two MCU characters. And it didn’t fail! This outdated and unloved character was introduced into the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy by James Gunn, released in 2014. He is voiced by Seth Green (the sitcom Robot Chicken). This anthropomorphic superhero created by Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik officially belongs to the continuity of the House of Ideas, but son aspect ridicule makes it difficult to compatible with the Avengers and other X-Men. Which does not prevent him from marry a human in What if…?, and attracting the attention of several bad guys with his offspring!
Howard the Duck épouse Darcy Lewis
Howard the Duck et Darcy LewisErik Selvig’s intern and Jane Foster’s assistant who appeared in the first Thor in 2011, got married, and as if this delirium made in Marvel wasn’t weird enough, the duck and the young human have a child! The egg that results from their union becomes the target of Yondu Udanta, the Grand Master, Malekith, Thanos or even Kaecilius (who wants the unborn child to serve as an earthly receptacle for Dormammu). Born from an inter-species relationship, the half-duck, half-human little girl, Byrdie, also has cosmic powers.
A fun romance although not very credible, which at least had the merit of putting the spotlight on two little-known characters!
