Star of William Goldenberg’s next film, “Unstoppable”, Jennifer Lopez revealed the role she preferred to play during her acting career.
On January 16, 2025, Jennifer Lopez will appear in the film “Unstoppable”, where she will play the role of Judy Robles, the mother of Anthony Robles, a wrestler known for having achieved sporting feats despite his disability. She admitted that it was not the favorite role of her career.
Indeed, in an interview given to Variety, the artist is already talking about her next project: “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, a film by Bill Condon where she will star opposite Diego Luna. She can’t help but admit: “It’s probably my favorite filming experience. It’s a film about how love transcends… everything. Difficult circumstances, gender, social prejudice. All !”
“You inspire all mothers who have experienced hardship”
Also recognized for her singing talents, Jennifer Lopez continues to expand her filmography. After having played in “Altas”, released on May 24, 2024, it is therefore in the shoes of Judy Robles that we find the 55-year-old American: “Judy Robles was greeted by numerous “standing ovations”. The audience was impressed by how successfully this single mother raised her son, Anthony, despite financial problems and abusive relationships.
Rave words that she didn’t just keep for herself: “I tell her all the time ‘you have to accept who you are and what you have done. You inspire all the mothers who have experienced hardship. You really have triumphed. You had a son who became a leader and you deserve all the credit.” But she is very humble!”
Jennifer Lopez is far from satisfied
Anthony Robles became a wrestling champion, an unexpected feat given his handicap: he was born with only one leg. The film notably returns to the role that her mother played in this progression to the top, in which Judy also learned a lot. This is one of Jennifer Lopez’s best-received performances by critics, who highlight the New York native’s natural talents as an actress.
But the actress does not intend to stop there. She warns: “I still have so much to do. I think I’m barely halfway through. I feel like the best of my work is ahead of me. My biggest projects await me and my greatest successes too. It’s all in the future.”
