HAS Cléguérecwe celebrate Christmas with Breton music! This Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 6:30 p.m., the village hall will come alive with the sounds of nine experienced duos or groups, known to fans of fest-noz.
A group of artists from Pontivy and Cléguérec reforms
To get the ball rolling, at 7 p.m., it’s duo Audran/Raultdancers à la Kerlenn Pondi. Present last year, as well as at the May 2024 festival, these “two singing gossips since childhood”, Gwennan and Loeiza, will present their repertoire of songs from Lower Brittanythose that make you want to dance. The duo will also perform at 11:50 p.m.
At 7:25 p.m. (as well as at 12:15 a.m.), an important moment in the Breton music scene will take place. For the occasion, the group Firstwell known to dancers, is reforming.
Born in 1998, with artists from (partly) Pontivy and Cléguérec, Kentañ has made a name for itself thanks to a clever mix of tradition and modernity. Their music is based on an emblematic duo of pipers, Jean-Marie Lorans on bombarde and Riwal Jégo on biniou, supported by key instruments from Central Brittany: the chromatic accordion of Jérôme Guillarme and the clarinet of Émilien Robic.
Samson Dayou’s fretless bass, added in 2008, and Mathieu Le Rouzic’s acoustic guitar bring a touch of modernity and groove that transcends trad standards.
Fourth album by Talec and Noguet
It is in Kleg that the duo that needs no introduction, the Rostrenoise Rose Talec and the accordionist from the country of Redon Yannig Noguetfinishes his presentation tour for his fourth album.
The two artists, who have been collaborating for 15 years, will perform at 8:15 p.m. and 1:05 a.m. And in front of their mirror, they haven’t aged a bit. As proof, in their new album, the duo astonishes once again, and creates a surprise with pieces sung in French. A first for the duo, which adds to the authenticity and sincerity of a remarkable album, a dose of gypsy jazz inspiration.
Kleg and Guerlédan in the spotlight
This duo will be followed by the group TiTOM (8:55 p.m.), which will conclude this fest-noz at 1:50 a.m., before another duo takes the stage at 9:50 p.m. In this case two Cléguérecois, Guillaume Jan and Pierre-Marie Péran.
They knew each other from their earliest childhood (at the age of 3) and have been singing together since… 2022! Since then, they have brought to life a repertoire composed of songs from Upper Brittany, in French and Gallo, whether in Kleg or Guerlédan (Mûr-de-Bretagne).
Finally, at 10:15 p.m., the Barok quintet will be surrounded by other bowed strings (violins and cellos), forming Barokistana composition of nine children of En Arwen. These nine well-known artists from the Breton scene will take the public into a whirlwind of dance, diversity and travel.
Saturday, December 28, in the village hall, Christmas fest-noz. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., music starts at 7 p.m. Entrance: €10, bar and snacks on site (mulled wine, sandwiches, fries, etc.).
