Thierry Boccanfuso, director of the MusiQafon association, got involved 25 years ago by creating the Notown association. Notown is the translation of Nonville, born from the desire of a group of musicians to shake things up, energize their community, by offering musical events.
Since then, the association has migrated to Nemours (Seine-et-Marne) and became MusiQafon (literally “Music in the Arrondissement of Fontainebleau”). Today, it can boast of 70 partners and 220 actions for this year.
A springboard for young people
Established 15 years ago with the municipality of Nemours, the springboard allows young local talents to perform in dance, singing, music, theater, etc.
Young artists can freely register. A handful will be selected to compete and compete on January 11, at the Scène du Loing, as the opening act for the group Magic Queen. Many Nemourians will be in the running. The public present will vote for their favorite artist who will have the chance to obtain a place on the Notown Festival.
An XXL festival in 2025
“We trigger desires by bringing projects,” explains Thierry. For three years, MusiQafon has also supported all audiences in socio-cultural projects, whether young college students, disabled people or the elderly, the association organizes booms and concerts. Everything is an excuse to make anyone active.
Thierry is very proud of it: From the two associations, 25 festivals were born within a 25 km radius!
Above all, these are young people who have chosen at one point to be autonomous to set up their own project. “Young Talents of Bahut”, a concept set up 10 years ago with the department, has borne fruit. » The project had the ambition to be participatory, young people from colleges were actors in their development. We encouraged them to come and audition, make posters, run the refreshment bar, catering, welcome entries.”
This year again, a strong dynamic is being created in the Mont Saint Martin and Beauregard districts, around the Loisirs Jeunes reception. A call for projects is underway, with a big show in store.
And that’s not all! In 2025, for its 25th anniversary, the festival will take place not over 2 days, but over 5 (Wednesday to Sunday), with 5 groups per day: 25 years old, 25 groups of initiated artists!
