Lighthouses, mansions, architect-designed houses… In Lorient, he sells extraordinary properties

You became a real estate advisor for Espaces Atypicals this summer. What is this agency and why did you start?

Simon Jouanno: I studied town planning but real estate has always interested me. I had done internships in a real estate agency and with a property dealer. And then I went to play at the Lann-Bihoué bagad for two years. The break made me think: I couldn't see myself sitting at a desk all day, I needed to be stimulated, particularly by being self-employed. I knocked on the door of Espaces Atypicals, a national network of agencies that has existed since 2008. The Morbihan branch is located in . For them, was far away. I am therefore attached to this agency but on my own account. I cover the area of Lorient, Ploemeur, Hennebont, Caudan, Quéven and the left bank.

You therefore specialize in the sale of “atypical” goods. But what is an atypical property?

It can be a house which, due to its architecture, stands out: neighborhoods where there are classic suburban houses and not far away, an architect's house. It can also be a loft in the city center, a great renovation of a stone house inland, a house with a blockhouse in the garden like you find on the coast, a lighthouse, a manor…

Is the country of Lorient a land of extraordinary goods?

When you spend your time in the field, you realize how many great assets there are in the area. We explore city centers by bike, on foot, we have time to look at them but sometimes, on the fringes of town centers, we find very well renovated neo-Breton buildings, with very modern extensions for example.

Who do these houses attract?

The customers who are looking for these goods are often senior executives, liberal professions, in the medical field, engineers, business managers and secondly, retirees.

How did your beginnings go?

I sold a property. I am offering seven at the moment (a farmhouse of 250 m2 at €652,000 in Quéven; another of 230 m2 with more than 7,000 m2 of land, at the price of €631,500 in Languidic; an architect's house with swimming pool, in Ploemeur, at €910,000 or even “a haven of peace” in Kervignac, consisting of two; houses of 104 m2 each, at €749,500, Editor's note) and others to come.

Like any real estate agent, my goal is to find properties and best support my clients who entrust me with their homes. It's a heavy mission but I want to show that it's possible at 28 years old. I also want to develop social networks. The properties will be highlighted by professional photographers and by the videos that I love to make.
