From January 16 to 20, the Maison & Objet show of will welcome an exceptional collaboration: the Saint-Ouen Flea Market join forces with the architect and decorator Alessandro Moriconi to create a stand that promises to be an event in itself. This adopted Parisian, of Italian origin, is a rising figure in the interior designworking between Europe and the United States. For the occasion, he imagined three worlds of decoration from objects found in the aisles of the mythical Saint-Ouen flea market.

Inspiration drawn from the Flea Market

Historically, the Saint-Ouen flea market are for me a inexhaustible source of inspiration and a real breeding ground for my creative projects. Their diverse offering of vintage piecesfull of history and emotion, corresponds perfectly to my interior design vision : infuse each project with a heritage dimension and a unique soul. For me, flea hunting goes far beyond the professional framework: it’s a passion.“, confided Alessandro Moriconi.

This decorator, a lover of noble materials and objects of art, has been surveying the different markets that make up this emblematic place for years. His discerning eye allowed him to select a collection eclectic furniture, old textiles et collectiblesdesigned to give life to three Craft Boxesboxes dedicated to turnkey decors.

Craft Boxes for innovative scenography

The Puces de Saint-Ouen stand at Maison & Objet will present these three Craft Boxes, each representing a distinct universe: a salona dining room and a bureau. These boxes, symbols of the way in which objects travel to integrate our interiors, illustrate Alessandro Moriconi’s approach: “The concept ? Imagine Craft Boxes inspired by the way objects and furniture travel and integrate into our interiors. These boxes will be a invitation to discover how design can tell a story while remaining modular and adaptable to different contexts. They also illustrate my approach: drawing on the past to shape the future, while celebrating the craftsmanship and heritage that make Puces de Saint-Ouen an essential destination for vintage lovers and decoration enthusiasts.“.

Each Craft Box will be made up of carefully sourced elements ready to be delivered directly to customers, according to a tradition well-established at Les Puces. Through this production, Alessandro Moriconi shows “how to combine aesthetics, history and functionality in unique creations“.

A tribute to the Puces and their dynamism

This collaboration between Les Puces de Saint-Ouen and Alessandro Moriconi is part of a common desire to celebrate the role of chips in the world of decoration and design. With its 1,200 antique and second-hand dealers, this place iconic attracts thousands of visitors each year, professionals or amateurs, in search of unique treasures.

The Maison & Objet show, an international event bringing together the big names in decoration, constitutes an ideal platform to highlight this alchemy between heritage and innovation. Visitors will be able to discover how the energy and authenticity of Puces de Saint-Ouen are translated into the creations of a visionary decorator.
