The program for the 2025 edition of the Art Sonic festival in Briouze (Orne) was announced this Thursday, December 19. Between the return of certain artists, the arrival of others essential and the search for a certain parity, the organization tried to find a balance. What does the next vintage have in store for us?

“We want to please festival veterans and younger people,” explains Xavier Carjuzââ, responsible for programming. “We have the same promise than last year, with only monsters on stage,” he promises.

Four headliners

Pour 2025, four artists were revealed first, before the rest of the list. “We wanted a balanced program,” explains Xavier Carjuzââ.

Clara Luciani and Gazo are at the top among these announcements. “It was important to show a man and a woman as headliners. We never had Gazo, which is a must, and Clara Luciani’s latest album, My Sangis magnificent. »

There is a desire to see certain artists again with other projects.

The organization only relies on artists who will offer something new.

And for those who return to Briouze after a first passsuch as Rilès or Deluxe, this is also the case: they will have in their suitcase a new musical proposition for Art Sonic spectators.

Long-awaited returns

So there are some highly anticipated returns to the Art Sonic festival.

The group Ultra Vomitwhich “has never been so successful”, is touring the zeniths and offering a unique date in Normandy, more than fifteen years after their first appearance in Briouze, in 2009.

The Norman Rilesone of the headliners, came in 2018: “It was a big slap in the face,” admits the programmer. The festival had wanted to bring him back for several years, but was waiting for “a new project” from him. This is done.

Madam, it was a very nice meeting that we had for the 25th anniversary. They were in high demand among festival-goers and their EP was highly acclaimed. They give their all and represent the new French scene well.

Social networks have changed certain decisions: “Bekar was in high demand. As for Madameven if they had come in 2022, it was a long-awaited return,” explains Xavier Carjuzââ.

A search for balance in programming

If certain artists are big machines, there is still the search for a certain parity in the names proposed for the 2025 edition. “We wanted to show a balance in several aspectsincluding parity and styles. »

For rap, apart from the Gazo and Rilès phenomenon, there is the much in demand Single. “It is the logical continuation of what we proposed with Georgio in 2024. They are two generous artists on stage, who wet their shirts,” describes Xavier Carjuzââ.

The “rising figure” of French rap has compiled several collaborations with pillars of the current movement, such as SDM or PLK. “He has a discography impeccable and reissued his album. It has millions of plays. »

Rock will be very present, as will metal (this will please early fans). In this context, the very offbeat members of Ultra Vomit will set the festival on fire.

Without forgetting We hate you please diefrom Rouen who produced “one of the most beautiful metal albums recently”.

Ultra Vomit is an essential band. It’s important to put metal on stage. They have this signature humor, they work on their videos and bring a good atmosphere. Their new album is perhaps the biggest hit of their career.

In an energetic atmosphere, the “very efficient” and Normande Maddy Street will open hostilities on the Sonic Stage on Friday.

The punk and hard rock will also be out during the festival, with Furies, “inspired by the 90s”, Poesie Zero and Bad bad girl, which has “very catchy choruses”.

Pop is not left out, notably with Clara Luciani which will please the general public: “She has a job. It’s the same logic as for Louise Attaque last year. »

All her recent awards, at the Victoires de la Musique among others, propel her to the top of the bill. This will be his first live concert in Orne.

Artists to discover

To ride the reggae wave initiated by Nââman last year, Jahneration will be there. “They are very effective on stage. They worked with sizes of this kind and we have been trying to find a niche for several years,” says Xavier Carjuzââ.

And for lovers of electronic musicthe “unclassifiable” Roland Crystal will be there to close the Saturday evening: “He’s a great performer who frees himself from styles. »

On Friday evening, it will be two young French DJsLaze (a Marseillaise) and Saku Sahara (a Lyonnaise) as a duo.

There is even a brass band, which is closer to the world of brass bands: Gallowstreet. “It’s the new generation,” explains the programmer, “they are shaking up the codes and coming to seek out the public. »

It’s a show 100 % instrumentalbut very organic and powerful. Art Sonic will be among the first festivals to welcome this Dutch group in France.

“We had very good feedback on the 2024 poster,” reveals Xavier Carjuzââ, “there, we put new faces with a wide range musical suggestions. There will be something for everyone. »

A very colorful show

Like the “catchesque” inspired illustration, signed Petrouchkaka, and the artistic direction chosen for next year, the show will be very colored.

The group Deluxe will bring this touch, mixing several styles, with their costumes and their unmissable stage presence.

Deluxe is typically the band you want to see at a summer festival. It sings, it’s colorful… M said it was his favorite group on stage. It’s going to be heavy.

Art Sonic is ensuring that 2025 is a party, with a very “danceable” program, while retaining the same prices than last year.
