The next edition of the Verbier Festival will pay special tribute to Ravel and Shostakovich

While the program for the new edition of the Verbier Festival has just been revealed, Hervé Boissière and Barbara Hannigan will be, this Thursday, December 19 at 8 p.m., the guests of the Journal du Classique.

The 32th edition of the Verbier Festival will be held from July 16 to August 3, 2025. It will once again bring together some of the biggest stars in music and young talents in full bloom; it will spark new encounters and celebrate several anniversaries including the 50th anniversary of the death of Shostakovich and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ravel.

Hervé Boissière, co-director of the festival, will enlighten us on the highlights of this program while singer and conductor Barbara Hannigan will share with us her emotion at the idea of ​​making her debut next summer in Verbier.

A program around the theme of carnival

Because it was to her that the opening concert was entrusted, with the Verbier Festival orchestra. A concert for which she imagined an original program as she knows how to design them so well, bringing together music by Berlioz and Haydn with pages by American composers, around the festive theme of carnival.
