During Saturday’s election of Miss France 2025, the regional costume of Miss Lorraine, Assia Roosz-Tomenti, sparked some mockery on social networks. Some viewers compared this futuristic white and green combination to a superhero costume and saw references to the Avengers, Power Rangers or even Buzz Lightyear. But its creator, Wesley Forstinger, claims that this famous regional costume was actually not worn the right way.
On Facebook, this costume designer based in Jarny, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, clarified that his outfit had been worn backwards during the ceremony. On Saturday evening, viewers would therefore have seen the back of the suit on Miss Lorraine and not the front. If the costume had been worn the right way, viewers should have seen two Graoullys sewn on either side of the torso and more details reminiscent of the scales of the dragon, symbol of the city of Metz, specifies France 3 Grand Est.
“I was having my makeup and hair done when I was told that I had to go on stage,” explains Assia Roosz-Tomenti, who finished in the Top 15 of the election, to our colleagues. It was urgent, a dresser put the costume on me and in the heat of the moment, I didn’t check, I trusted and I paraded with the costume inside out.
In any case, Wesley Forstinger and Assia Roosz-Tomenti, who often work in Luxembourg, are preparing with the Miss France committee a photo shoot in front of the Saint-Étienne cathedral in Metz, in order this time to show the public the costume ” in a good way.”
