At the helm, Dominique, 73, and Monique, 90, are two retired friends who share the same adolescent enthusiasm for a video game that has become cult: Street Fighter.
In the senior residence that they both attend in La Valette-du-Var (Var), they can count on a real fan club among the residents during their training.
The two women who face each other virtually in body-to-body combat always maintain the class of ladies of their age when they talk about it:
“It’s excitement, adrenaline!” delights Dominique Dillié.
It’s a little tiring in terms of shoulders and dexterity, but it’s very nice!

On December 7, the two players experienced their moment of glory. Both volunteered to face each other in a ring in the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine).
An event as a preamble to a boxing gala, in front of 20,000 spectators.
“We had a very short time to prepare. We trained, and then we left for the capital !” remembers Monique.
I felt responsible to represent seniors. It was intimidating. But the crowd galvanized us, applauded us, it was extraordinary!

After this experience which will remain engraved in their memory, Monique and Dominique returned to their senior residence, playing cards and Scrabble.
