A specialist in scams and false papers, Christelle Doisy has long multiplied identities, escapades and lies since the end of the 90s. Behind the facts, the portrait of a woman with an atypical background emerges, who lines up the victims: very often men encountered on dating sites.

Among them, Frédéric Descours, her ex-husband, accused of complicity regarding the offenses committed by his ex-wife. However, the one who is also the father of their two children presents herself as a victim manipulated by Christelle Doisy.

Public Prosecutor of , Jean-Philippe Vicentini took on the role of general counsel during the trial of the Doisy-Descours couple. “Frédéric Descours has a personality, at least in court, the polar opposite of that of Ms. Doisy” remembers the magistrate in Voices of Crime. “He talked a lot for two days, which was a little in contrast to the personality he wanted to present to the court, who is someone who would have been totally manipulated by Ms. Doisy.”

I could not be convinced, even if it is his thesis, that during these six years he was manipulated, even “drugged”

A retired farmer from a small village in Dordogne, Frédéric Descours is a former soldier in the French navy. Within the couple he has formed since 2010 with Christelle Doisy, the roles are unequal, and the latter’s attitude raises questions. “During the six years she spent with Frédéric Descours, she did not work. Frédéric Descours did not work, but he had his retired military pension which amounted to approximately 1,800 euros. But there you have it, we still had to ensure daily life,” says Mr. Vicentini.

At the heart of the suspicions, the 57-year-old man, with a clean criminal record, had first refused a submission to a psychological assessment, which he ended up carrying out. Although he claims to be a victim of Christelle Doisy, psychological experts and those around him say the opposite. This is also what Mr. Vicentini thinks, who had the same conclusions about him.

“Frédéric Descours, throughout the file, is described by those close to him as someone who has personality, like someone who is not easily influencedeven if, indeed, a certain number of testimonies describe that he had changed a little in personality from the moment he met Ms. Doisy,” explains Mr. Vicentini.

“I could not be convinced, even if it is his thesis, that during these six years he was manipulated, even ‘drugged'”he adds. Embroiled in Christelle Doisy’s long series of scams, Descours saw in March 2016 the gendarmes from the research section of the Amiens gendarmerie knocking on the door of their home, in a small village in the .

The idea was: ‘he was under a strong moral constraint which made him lose his free will, and therefore, you cannot condemn him’.

A testimony will upset the course of the case, that of a young au pair who spent eight months at the Doisy-Descours home. The 18-year-old says she was manipulated and drugged repeatedly for eight months. She also describes the violent behavior of the fifty-year-old. “For her, she is very clear, what she suffered, what she experienced, is as much linked to Ms. Doisy as Mr. Descours, even if indeed we have the impression that in her words, the psychological violence was more the work of Mr. Descours than of Ms. Doisy”confide to M. Vincentius.

Following the confessions of the young au pair, the couple, who had around fifty addresses from 2010 to 2016, are being prosecuted for “human trafficking”. An accomplice in the eyes of investigators, Frédéric Descours appears in September 2024, at the Amiens court alongside Christelle Doisy. He denies the facts with which he is accused. “I think that it was part, indeed, of a construction which, once again, is entirely commendable for the defense, to want demonstrate that (…) Frédéric Descours is also a victim of Madame Doisywho had done ‘all of this without knowing it of his own free will’, explains Mr. Vicentini.

On September 13, 2024, Frédéric Descours is sentenced to five years in prisondespite the acquittal pleaded by his lawyer. The idea was: ‘he was under strong moral constraint which made him lose his free will, and therefore, you cannot condemn him'”, affirms Mr. Vicentini. Frédéric Descours decides to appeal. Christelle Doisy was sentenced to seven years in prison.
