There are four of them who make up the very closed circle of “unicorns”these Houses which, overall, see the resale value of their bags reach at least 85% of their initial price. In fourth position, Louis Vuitton joins this top for the first time with resale prices increasing by 7 points, just like Chanelthird, up 11 points. A general increase

Overall, Rebag specifies that all the brands analyzed in this study recorded an increase in their resale value, particularly the so-called “accessible” luxury brands for which demand has increased significantly within a sector which is seeing its consumption slow down.

Among the luxury bags particularly popular this year on the resale market, the Ava and the Triomphe East-West of Celine are among the models that stand out, just like the quiet luxury of The Rowwith in particular the North/South Parkthe Half Moon or even the Margaux. The dynamic is also strong among Prada while its Hobo Re-Edition 2000 bag has resold for around 109% of its value in recent months, popularized by models Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.

L’influence du star system

Because more than ever, celebrities have had their role to play in the backlash for certain models. If the singer Charli XCXhelped by a TikTok trend, caused requests for green “brat” bags to skyrocket, the tour event of Taylor Swift also had a significant impact on certain formats.

According to the study, fans of the American artist would not be innocent of the increase in demand for small bags with a festive aesthetic and easy to carry during concerts: the Triangle Prada covered in crystals saw its resale price reach 124% of its initial price, as did the Giant Crystal Camera Bag by Chanel (106%) or even the Baguette by Fendi in its sequin version (100%). The singer would also have had a major role in the bag’s love rating Cushion of Louis Vuitton (102% compared to 80% last year), seen on his arm on the sidelines of his tour.

THE it-bag has perhaps not quite said its last word.
