The concert will then be broadcast on Christmas Eve on P2, on DR2 on December 25 and on DR1 on December 26. Queen Mary wore a green ensemble to attend the recording, welcomed at the Radio House by the director of the National Girls’ Choir, Anne Karine Prip, and by the cultural director of DR Radio, Henrik Bo Nielsen.
This choir has existed since 1938 and its repertoire has changed significantly. The singers perform both classic Danish works and current pop songs. The show aims to be contemporary and the staging is even avant-garde. Several other groups surprised us by performing a piece with the main choir, including the Children’s Choir. After the concert, Queen Mary was able to greet the singers and the choir director, Charlotte Rowan.
