the essential
In a subtle staging, Tribu Nougaro contributes to discovering or rediscovering the work of Claude Nougaro.
The Éclats association invites you to meet “Tribu Nougaro” this Sunday, December 15 at 5 p.m. at the Halle aux Grains. “Tribu Nougaro” is not a cover show, not a “tribute” as they say these days, not a tribute. “Tribu Nougaro” is a pure creation based on the work of Claude Nougaro whose aim is to find the DNA of the words, the essence of the notes of the poet Singer’s well-known and lesser-known songs. This trio is led by Laurent Malot, an experienced singer who has performed numerous shows, and who has always admired Claude Nougaro. At his side, Christophe Devillers plays double bass (where he excels) but also trombone. As for Franck Steckar, he happily moves from piano to trumpet, accordion or balafon. These two play with disconcerting ease and rhythm. It is therefore an elite trio who play with unfeigned complicity but with impressive listening and mutual respect. The whole thing was directed by Xavier Lacouture whose touch we can feel and who gives a beautiful spontaneity to the training. The vocal and stage postures of the great monsters, Ferré, Gainsbourg, Brel and… Nougaro can sometimes obliterate the meaning. The container can sometimes obscure the contents a little. In Jazz, Classical Music, Theater and Dance, we are constantly reinterpreting the great creators. The director, the actor, the dancer, the choreographer and the performer strive, if the approach is honest, to bring their personal vision. Why not in the song? This is the will of this creation. “Tribu Nougaro” wants to help bring loud and clear the unstoppable songs of this genius.
