For the little ones, who have only had a little more than two months of practice, this will be the first performance in front of an audience. “They are very happy, very proud to share this. It will be very cute,” recalls the manager and conductor, already touched by the emotion that his very young students will feel.

The orchestra will also then be formed to offer the public a performance with Christmas accents, less classical and “lighter”. A great time to complete these auditions.
Wanderings
After the auditions, still on December 18, the musicians will go out into the streets of Foix to offer a musical stroll. “It’s important that the musicians live the spirit of Christmas. They will perform more festive music, dedicated to this period,” specifies Mikaël Celma. And the artists will be adorned with a pretty Christmas hat, just to blend into the atmosphere.
IN THE CHURCH
For those who missed the auditions, the musicians from the Foix conservatory will be performing at the Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption church on December 19, from 6:15 p.m. Here again, they will perform for free. On the menu: “a female choir, accompanied by flute, bassoon and organ classes. It’s interesting because the students will play small scenes”.
FILM ON THE NETWORKS
On December 20, the musicians come together internally in two orchestras to be filmed while they perform a piece. A film to which “lots of fun videos will be added during editing”, promises the chef. This film should be broadcast on December 23 or 24, on the conservatory’s social networks such as Facebook or Instagram. A little wink to mark the occasion at Christmas.
As for the piece of music performed, Mikaël Celma will not reveal the title. But, good sport, he indicates that “it’s a well-known song by Mariah Carey”.
CONCERT AND CHOIR
Return of the Christmas Brass on December 21, an event organized for several years by the conservatory. From 3 p.m., all amateur or professional musicians will meet at the Passéjade garden. “It’s an Anglo-Saxon tradition, we’ve been doing this for a long time.”
The trumpets, horns, tubas and trombones will have a blast. Please note, before playing in unison, the 50 expected musicians will have rehearsed together in the morning at the conservatory.
Conservatoire
This year, the conservatory has a nice surprise in store for the public eager for singing. “We are creating an ephemeral choir. Paper booklets with Christmas songs will be distributed to those who wish them, fifteen minutes before the concert. They are composed of the lyrics of ten pieces. The idea is to mix the side singing and the brass side in front of the public”, announces Mikaël Celma.

And if there are not enough booklets, future singers can always flash a QR code to have the texts.
The conservatory plans to then carry out a stroll to the Goose Fountain, if the public and especially the choir participants are there.
The musicians will then take a well-deserved vacation.
