Like sheep? It’s the new immersive exhibition at the Quai des Savoirs that will attract crowds!

Attention agoraphobes… After the success of the exhibition AI: Double Iwhich attracted more than 65,000 visitors, the Quai des Savoirs in presents its new major exhibition of the year focused on crowds, its mechanisms and mysteries : Like sheep? To discover (and much more) from January 31 to November 2, 2025.

An exhibition to attract all the crowds

Designed and produced in 2023 by the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in , in partnership with the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and adapted by the Quai des Savoirs, Like sheep? Land at the Quai des Savoirs from January 31 to November 2, 2025.

Mehdi Moussaïdscientific curator of the exhibition and YouTuber specializing in crowds, also participated; the latter allows us to discover the phenomenon of fuloscopy, i.e. the science of crowd behavior : panics, crowd movement, spread of rumors, social networks, collective intelligence… Everything is carefully studied and developed on its YouTube channel. An immersive journey where the visitor is confronted with the phenomenon

Purpose of many reviewsthe crowd has often been perceived as a strange, even disturbing creature. The Quai des Savoirs exhibition thus intends to deconstruct this negative image.

For more than an hour, Toulouse residents and other curious people (from 7 years old) will be able to dive into an original, participatory visit route and immersive since “the visitor is transformed into a real foulologist thanks to special and surprising devices“, explains a member of the Quai des Savoirs team.

In addition, this version was adapted for the theater and the local audiencethe scenography has been revised, in particular with the addition of a video on the Toulouse crowds“.

At the heart of different types of crowds

For years, crowds have beenobject of scientific studythe exhibition is therefore structured around the three main themes that emerge:

  1. Compact crowds : here, the crowd is perceived as really very dense (like that day when the Opéra Urbain wandered through the streets of Toulouse), so – in particular – in this part, “visitors will learn to count the number of people in such an event thanks to a fun and participatory installation“.
  2. Pedestrian crowds : they represent a mass of people who pass each other and distance themselves, without remaining static. The movements of pedestrian crowds are therefore studied, that is to say the way in which people move in public places.
  3. Digital crowds : on this subject, “we have a good part on social networks, including how a rumor spreads, the impact on political elections and “trend” movements“, indicates the contact at the editorial office of Toulouscope.

The 3 big highlights of the 2025 season

In addition to the attractiveness of the exhibition which makes us ask the question: “we are the crowd, but are we sheep for that reason?“, highlights are planned throughout 2025 :

An inaugural conference with Mehdi Moussaïd at the end of January;
A meeting with François Delarozière to talk about crowds, live shows, emotions…;
The social media court, whose concept is to simulate a hearing with pleadings, lawyers, public, etc.;
– Well other surprises to discover throughout the program.
