“I am a dreamer, but the dream is rooted in reality”

Physics or chemistry?

(Small hesitation). Come on, physics, because the phenomena are felt physically, weightlessness, gravity, these are phenomena that are almost palpable.

Fauna or flora?

Flora, because it is easier to observe a daisy than a tiger! Because I have always loved gardens, I like having my hands in the earth. I like observing flora. When I’m walking and I don’t know a plant, I photograph it and as soon as there is network, with my cell phone, I look for its identity on the Plantnet application.

By observing plants, we also tell the history of men. Of course, there are local, endemic plants, but we live in a world in which plants have circulated enormously. When we scratch a little, we realize that the plant comes from such a place, that it was brought back in such conditions, that it was named thus, in Latin. I love Latin! It is essential that plants be recognizable by the entire scientific community, whatever the nationality of the botanist, hence the Latin. Imagine that we start to name them in the vernacular language, we will invent plants in every country in the world!

YouTube or television?

Both ! Because the two are complementary. I can’t choose one over the other, they really complement each other…

Dreamer or realist?

I think I’m a dreamer, but the dream is rooted in reality. That is to say, it is by observing reality that we begin to dream. It is reality that takes us somewhere. I’m more of a contemplative at the end of the day, so the contemplative has his eyes focused on reality, but reality takes him elsewhere…

Journalist or presenter?

Journalist, because it’s my job, but when you do this job well, at a given moment, on radio or TV, you become a bit of a presenter, because you put knowledge, knowledge, information, a little on stage. It’s very useful when you’re doing radio or TV to put this data on stage. It’s like when you write. We will choose words, expressions which are the most colorful, which make us want to, and therefore we inevitably become a bit of an animator.

Tea or coffee?

I’m a coffee drinker, I have to restrict myself, because I love coffee! Today, I limit myself to four coffees a day, but before, I exceeded ten, or even more!

Gardening or cooking?

Oh, it’s terrible, because when you love cooking, you love the garden! I spend more time in the kitchen, but I love gardening. At the time, I even did a show called Like a desire for gardens. It was truly bliss, we shot early in the morning, and entering a garden around 6 or 7 o’clock, shooting at the moment when nature awakens, the flora awakens, it’s wonderful. You have the scents that awaken, which slowly rise into your nostrils… A garden is terrible, in all seasons.
