Back in the public eye: “I was guillotined in a public square,” says singer Kathleen

Singer Kathleen made her comeback on on the show The furyshe who made her mark in the early 1990s. Her success I’m doing well! propels her more than ever into the public eye. But when we reach this type of summit, the spotlight turns on us. For the young woman, this dark light is the show Hot pepperhosted by Normand Brathwaite.

“It’s atrocious what I was subjected to. I just wanted to make people happy. That’s my crime,” she lamented on Sophie Durocher’s microphone, on QUB broadcast on 99.5 FM.

The degrading jokes about her appearance continue from show to show, to the point where she no longer even dares to leave her house. By his own admission, what should have been years of embracing the music scene turned into living hell.

Kathleen looks back with emotion on the difficult period of her career where she went from star to laughing stock of Quebec, on the microphone of Sophie Durocher at QUB, broadcast on 99.5 FM.

To add to the problem, producers at the time believed that only his image mattered, without taking into account the quality of his songs. No way out of this vicious spiral. And then comes the breaking point, this stage where being the laughing stock of Quebec becomes an unbearable situation.

“At times, I was afraid that people would recognize me. The suffering becomes stronger than anything,” she explained.

Even though a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, we feel that the wound that Kathleen suffered has not completely healed. The emotion still grips him as much, delivering his testimony between tears and positivism. Because if the artist has been bruised, the woman continues to fight.

Never far from a studio for 10 years, the former star singer is starting to shine again. His dream of the stage is slowly coming back to life, just like his flame for music. After all, let’s never forget that even when it rains, the sun reaches out to it.
