“I drove six hours to Julien Doré! »: in Carhaix, Vieilles Charrues fans got up early to buy their tickets

It is a tradition for Vieilles Charrues to open the ticket office for the next edition of the festival as the end-of-year holidays approach. A gift idea that is sure to hit the mark, but also, for the most impatient, a way to already secure a place for the 33rd edition of the festival, which will take place from July 17 to 20, 2025 in Carhaix .

“For the atmosphere”

First to arrive at 5 a.m., Christophe has provided a chair and coffee to wait. “I work in the food industry. I came straight after work. I come every year. I like the atmosphere,” smiles the Carhaisian, who plans to go “prepare breakfast for the grandmother” as soon as he has the precious sesame in his pocket. During this wait, Christophe had time to get to know his neighbors, notably Hugues, from Ploërdut, who arrived second around 7 a.m. or even Rolland, from Châteauneuf-du-Faou, present since 7:20 a.m. This former volunteer came to his daughter Marie. “She’s a big fan of Alanis Morissette. She has seen her five or six times in concert,” explains the retiree who has not ruled out also taking a ticket for the occasion.

Rolland is clearly not the only “special correspondent” of the day. Jean-Claude, a volunteer for 30 years, made the trip, like every year. “I come for people from Landerneau and elsewhere,” explains the Carhaisien.

I wanted to be sure I had time to buy my tickets because, online, it's often a gamble.

Monique, 72, also on a mission for her grandchildren, is surprised by the lack of attendance. “One year, I waited in line for almost 4 hours,” remembers the former caregiver. This lower attendance can easily be explained by the online pre-sale offered to buyers, who, until now, came to the Vieilles Charrues premises.

Fans of the Sex Pistols and Julien Doré are here

Hubert, 72, is not so lucky. “I only came to Les Charrues once for Bruce Springsteen but the Sex Pistols, I can’t miss them! It’s all my youth,” smiles the resident. Like Hubert, Audrey did not hesitate to sacrifice a few hours of sleep. “I’m not very internet savvy. I wanted to be sure I had time to buy my tickets because, online, it's often a gamble,” explains this big fan of Alanis Morissette. Mathieu is also waiting for the Canadian rocker. But the Carhaisien, who participated in his first Charrues in 2023, also hopes to discover lesser-known groups.” Finally, Isabelle only dreams of Julien Doré: “I drove six hours from the region. I'm crazy about him, so much so that it annoys my husband. Thanks to the Ploughs, I haven't finished bothering him! »
