One year suspended prison sentence required on appeal against Jean-Marc Morandini for corruption of minors

Almost two years after his conviction for corruption of minors, which he appealed, television host Jean-Marc Morandini was tried by the Court of Appeal, Wednesday November 27, 2024. As in first instance, the prosecution requested a one-year suspended prison sentence, but with three years of probation, compared to two years during his first conviction, reports The Parisian .

In December 2022, the presenter of the show Morandini Liveon CNews was found guilty at first instance of having exchanged messages of a sexual nature with two 15-year-old teenagers, between 2013 and 2016. From one of them, he had asked for a naked photo. He also pushed a third young person, aged 18, to undress during a casting.

Decision expected March 7

During the hearing before the Paris Court of Appeal, Jean-Marc Morandini pleaded jokes “heavy and clumsy” and assured that he did not “no twisted ulterior motives”. “It’s hard to believe that he is aware of his actions”criticized one of the lawyers of the civil party, cited by The Parisian.

The court will render its decision on March 7, 2025. This hearing came after two days of trial for the host in another case for sexual harassment of adults, during castings for a series which never saw the light of day. The public prosecutor requested 18 months of imprisonment and the judgment will be delivered on January 27.
