the essential
From April 3 to 6, 2025, the Les Fous Rires de Castres festival returns for a fourth edition and moves to the Gérard Philipe room for the occasion. With a promise: to make people laugh thanks to the café-theatre.
After three successful editions, the Fous Rires de Castres are continuing their merry way and preparing a 2025 edition which looks very good. If the Castres sur Scènes association does not wish to disrupt its proven concept, it is nevertheless broadening its horizons by “opening up the programming,” explains president Pierre Galibert. Thus, we no longer only offer café-theatre. we are now a comedy festival!”
Bigger, still intimate
This results in the arrival of Erick Baert, a singer-imitator, “who promises to bring 100 concerts to life on his own! From Julio Iglesias to Chantal Goya, including AC/DC, Obispo, M or Bashung”, he is one of the rising stars of imitation.
In addition to opening its programming, Les Fous Rires is opening its doors. So farewell to the Lacaune hall at the Exhibition Center, “where we had to turn away 200 people every evening”, confides Pierre Galibert, and head to the Gérard Philipe room, with a challenge: “to arrange it to make the moment as intimate as the editions previous.” A “golden square” will be set up for the first time, for members of the association. 350 people can be welcomed at each show, instead of the 150 of the last editions.
Above all, the Gérard Philipe room makes it possible to set up a larger bar section, a point on which the Fous Rires particularly insist: “before and after the shows, it is the place where we can exchange, meet up, and meet the artists!”, recalls Pierre Galibert. The bar will also be improved, with various cheese and charcuterie boards, pastries but also this year oysters.
Pre-sale tickets now
“We offer a relaxed offer. What we want is to attract people who have never been to the theater,” explains the president of Castres sur Scènes. Especially since the festival is starting to build its reputation, particularly in terms of artists: “we receive around ten proposals per week, we are starting to be identified in the small community” continues Pierre Galibert.
Tickets are on sale now for the festival, which will take place on April 3, 4, 5 and 6, 2025, and a 10% discount is offered until December 31. It will cost you €18, the same if you are a member of the association. From January 1, the place will cost €20. Tickets are on sale on castressurscenes.com and at the Life Tarn boutique, 8 rue Victor-Hugo in Castres. Information on 05 63 44 35 51
