Originally, the sequel taken from The Knight of the Rose is constructed from melodies taken from Strauss’ original opera. Tomas Ille explains: “we transformed a dramatic musical piece into a concert symphonic suite. Maestro Jordan is the author of the general design. He chose the main passages from the original score. We built the musical architecture together. My work focused on the instrumentation and arrangement of the work. The selection of passages follows the story, as presented in the original opera, and the arrangements are based on an autograph of the score, borrowed from the Austrian National Library in Vienna..
