Ryan Coogler and Mattson Tomlin are taking on a sci-fi graphic novel adaptation (and it’s very exciting).
Ryan Coogler’s rise to fame in Hollywood has been quite a success. After the festival success of his first feature film Fruitvale Stationthe resurrection of a successful franchise with Creed: The Legacy of Rocky Balboa and the phenomenon Black Pantherthe guy is currently preparing for Warner an enticing mystery film with the brilliant Michael B. Jordan. Also, the Hollywood Reporter recently announced that the filmmaker is working on the production of another very exciting project.

Indeed, according to the American media, Ryan Coogler to producewith his company Proximity Media, of the film adaptation of the graphic novel A Vicious Circleco-created by Mattson Tomlin and Lee Bermejo. Author Mattson Tomlin, who also wrote and directed the film Mother/Androidwill also adapt his work himself, as a screenwriter.
As a reminder, A Vicious Circle is a futuristic action thriller in which assassins hunt each other through time. The Hollywood Reporter describes the project as a « John Wick [qui] encounter Looper« . This graphic novel was a commercial success (more than 100,000 copies of the first two issues have been sold worldwide to date) and esteem (the first issue of the series was nominated twice for the Eisner Awards, the Comics Oscars).
No information has yet been revealed on the casting or the name of the filmmaker of this Vicious Circle. While waiting to learn more, remember that Ryan Coogler is also working on the Marvel Cinematic Universe animated series, Eyes of Wakanda. According to the Hollywood Reporterhis production company Proximity Media is also finalizing the post-production of the series Ironheartalso from Marvel.
Mattson Tomlin, meanwhile, co-wrote the screenplay for The Batman : Part II, with its director Matt Reeves. 2022 movie sequel set for release in our French cinemas on September 30, 2026.
