We must admit, we didn’t necessarily expect it there. Olympic judo champion Teddy Riner and his partner Luthna Plocus will host the French version of the reality TV show Love is Blind, scheduled for 2025, Netflix said on Thursday, confirming information from Parisian.
Launched on the streaming platform in the United States in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, Love is Blind follows several single people as they meet their soul mate.
The male and female participants are isolated from the world and get to know each other by talking through a wall, without ever seeing each other, the idea of the show being to test the saying “love is blind”.
Physical meetings only take place after a marriage proposal, with the engaged couple then spending several weeks getting to know each other in the real world, meeting each other’s friends and family before taking the plunge towards nuptials… or separation.
Very popular, Love is Blind is in its seventh season in the United States and has been available in around ten countries, from Germany to Brazil, including Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
Produced by ITV Studios (Love Island France, The Voice), the first French edition of Love is Blind is expected on Netflix in 2025. The candidates are currently filming in Morocco, according to The Parisian.
