With almost eight seasons in five years, Love is blind is a big hit on Netflix. The American reality TV launched in 2020 will return in February, and continues to be adapted in the four corners of the world: France is about to become the eleventh territory to produce its own version of the program!
Love Is Blind finally arrives in France
This is what our colleagues from Le Parisien are announcing today, Thursday November 21, 2024. After the United States, Brazil, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates, Netflix had already announced in October the opening of castings for the Italian adaptation of Love is blind (which means ‘love is blind’ in French, editor’s note). Barely a month later, the video on demand service is already launching the development of a new version, that of France. This will be broadcast during the year 2025. In this show with chic artistic direction, 30 singles – 15 women and 15 men – live in two separate lofts. Their “dates” take place blindly, in cabins where a wall separates them.
Teddy Riner returns to the job of animator!
This French adaptation will be produced by ITV Studios to whom we owe The Voice France or even Love Island on Prime Video. And to embody it, the production company had the good idea of pushing the theme of love even further, by focusing on a duo of animators who form a couple in real life. Their choice fell on… Teddy Riner and his wife Luthna Plocus. Together, they started a family. The five-time Olympic medalist and his wife have two children: a ten-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl. The judoka had already taken on the role of host in 2019, on France 2, at the helm of the original program The race of champions.
